Paper Check
« on: August 22, 2013, 10:31:06 AM »
Work handed me a paper check. Guess I'll have to run to the liquor store to cash it. :)

That was a throw back to old days when a lot if folks I worked with use to run to the liquor store to cash checks at lunch. My check was shorted and they over nighted it.

I figured they gave you a paper check since that gives them a few more hours to get the money to where the check will be good.

Autodeposit normally happens in the wee hours of the morning.

Hence, waiting for the books to be cooked.

Hell, that's all my job will give us as the owner insists on signing every check personally to make sure he isn't being screwed out of money.

i always refused direct deposit unless the company was reasonably large.

a small contractor i worked for once, wanted me to be sub-contracted and paid by direct deposit. i quit the next day.
