Right Click on mouse not working
« on: August 23, 2013, 01:23:34 AM »
Hi every1  :)  ran into a wee bit of a problem, a couple of days ago my right clicking on the mouse produced no results, tried everything but nothing worked.

Googled info for a fix, but advice given wasn't satisfactory, for one ,clicking on keyboard holding down Shift + F10, at times worked.
2d bit of info depressing on keyboard on the bottom betwix Alt and Ctrl, the fn button produced nothing.

I'm attempting to use the keyboard for right clicks, could some1 point me in the right direction pls?  Thx.

cheers,
Happy1

Is it just in the game or for everything? You might try unplugging and reconnecting your mouse. If that doesn't work, go buy a new mouse.

Hi rpm:

It's for everything, what I'm attempting to do is to use the Keyboard
to right click, as I understand it there's a way of doing it, but am unable to find a way as yet.
I tried unplugging & reconnecting the mouse, it's Logitech Laser, cordless desktop S 520.

Have you tried a different mouse? Could be as simple as a broken button.

Try your mouse on another computer. If it works there, try reinstalling the logitech mouse software.

Clicks are user editable, are you sure you didn't reconfigure your right mouse button to something else? :)

Hi Happy1, Shift+F10 is indeed valid information for right-clicking. You said it works only occasionally. Might it be that you didn't select anything when it didn't work? Like painting a word blue with your left mouse button and then Shift+F10?

For a complete list of Microsoft keyboard commands, look here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/keyboard-shortcuts#keyboard-shortcuts=windows-7

For finding out why your mouse won't right-click, go to Control Panel, select Mouse and check all of the settings. If your mouse uses specific Logitech software, try uninstalling that and using the functions Windows offers.

A Wireless mouse can be reset no? On the mouse there should be a small reset button underneath  and on the transmitter there is one also. Hold down both at the same time for 30 secs can reestablish wireless communication.

Fresh Batteries may help also.  :aok

Hello people :
My sincere apologies for the late reply but 'twas caused by the errant mouse as I wasn't even able to affect logon until a few minutes ago.
Thx to all of u for ur attempts to help.  Tried all of ur suggestions with no success, tried it, did it & ended up totally frustrated!

I've an old computer, Dell, since the '90s, the keyboard & mouse are connected to the hardware & everything works well..nvr any probs ..
windows XP is the OS.  The cordless keyboard & mouse are a pain after 6 years. Windows 8, not to my liking, wish I had windows 7 instead!
Shift + F10 on keyboard works sometimes.  Probably will look for a keyboard with attached mouse w/usb connection. Thank you for ur time & patience.
Cheers,
Happy1

Greetings  :aok

Two(2) days after my notification of problems w/my mouse (wireless) I
opted to find & purchase a corded keyboard w/mouse & usb ports.

Found same on Amazon. com , a "Logitech MK120 desktop ensemble
with two(2) Plug & Play USBs with a high definition optical mouse" for
$14.00.  ;) setup is simple, just plug & play.

With a two(2) day delivery service & testing for a couple of days, this product is EXACTLY what I was looking for

You have a computer from the '90s?  It will die on you fairly soon then; it's overdue already. Typically a CPU lasts 7-10 years, however other components usually fail and die out long before that.
