New Batman
« on: August 23, 2013, 07:10:27 AM »
Speaking of superheroes, the role of Batman in Man of Steel 2 has officially been announced:

And no, this ISN'T a joke.

While I agree it was a good idea to reboot rather than try to tie it into the Dark Knight series, THIS is the best they could come up with? Wasn't Michael Keaton available? ;-P Hell, I'd have taken another turn by George Clooney over this.

Batman fighting Superman....how ridiculous is that?  Batman is a rich guy with toys, Superman can fly, has far greater strength, x-ray eyes that can break chains etc. etc.  My money is on Superman in that fight.

Cue the Bat-fanboys with their counter arguments.

The entire Bat Family is such a ridiculous band of Mary Sues I honestly have a hard time taking the characters seriously. ESPECIALLY Cassandra Cain.

They said Heath Ledger couldn't pull off Joker too, who knows?

Ben Affleck's acting abilities are on the low end of the scale, for sure.  His face is virtually expressionless most of the time.  That said, I don't get the dogpiling of criticism this guy has gotten over the years.  He may be lacking for his job but man, the venom directed at this guy.  Wow.

One "actor" I wish would book one of those one-way trips to Mars, would be Adam Sandler.  I'll even pay his way.

On one hand, Heath Ledger.  On the other, Daredevil.  Affleck can't be blamed entirely for Daredevil, that movie was just... no.

I just can't see it working.  This movie is going to require a Batman that can stand eye to eye with Superman and make you believe he's got a shot at winning.  I can't see Affleck convincing anyone of that.  Bale would have been iffy too.

Karl Urban might have been able to pull it off.

rather see adam sandler as batman than affleck...he's not superhero material and that was proven with daredevil.

Kryptonite...

Ahhh, good point.  Well, that will make for an interesting film then, Superman will kick Batman's bellybutton until Batman pulls out a bunch of cheatingass kryptonite.

Think I'll pass.

Having Steven Hawking as an evil character could add a comical spin.
