Each Tour Having a Early-Mid-Late week?
« on: August 28, 2013, 06:18:45 AM »
I figured this has been tried and or wished before.  Thought I would ask anyway since it would be great fun to experience these early era war planes.

It seems to me it would be more interesting if each Tour started with the Early war the first week then Mid war the second week then Late far to finish the tour out.  Of course the plane selection would follow the era.

To make it work, the Map might have to reset at the week change.

I would think HTC could then eliminate the limited use arenas and still give the early and mid war folk an increase in action.

I wonder if that is because the Late war high performance plane users have a difficult time in the lower powered planes era?

This, rolling plane set SUCKS. People will ONLY play when their ride is available. Including me.

Yes  :devil

The EW & MW plane sets are already available in their respective arenas. Very few players use either of them.

Current arena populations:
EW - 0
MW - 3
LW - 93

I don't know if its more difficult because they are still flying against other EW and MW aircraft. Plain and simple people just don't like it. I assume its the war fighters more then anyone else. Most of the EW MW stuff isnt as capable of base taking as the Late War stuff. Whatever the reason people dont like being told what they can't fly.

Sad, but true.  So many nice planes to sample, so few who want to try on something new.

I do see what y'all are saying.  I guess that is the reason the high performance planes like the 51s, 190s, la7s and 109s dominate the tour numbers.  There have been numerous threads on high performance planes let pilots with few ACM skills compete so no sense going there.  The populous has spoken.

I thought it was a great idea but I can see now why it would fail.

no, it's because i pay 15 bucks a month to fly any plane i feel like flying.  If I wanted my choices limited I would go play wart thunder or world of crap planes for free.

This.

Gotta give you credit though, Randy.  At least your post isn't going the 'But this time it'll really work guys!" route.  It's been tried.  Few things are more vehemently reviled by the majority.

Agreed.  I'd likely claw my eyes out if I couldn't fly what I want when I want.  :aok for the suggestion tho'!

I think the only thing worse would be implimentation of some sort of "Level" system based on experience, points and the purchase of ingame "money" (let's agree, for grins and giggles, to call them "Golden Lions") to buy specific plane sets, add-on packs and weapons......

Hey.....wait a minute...that sounds vaguely familiar.....  :D
Going by "Hoplite" now. :)

I don't think it should limit or impose on customers how they can spend their time.

That being said, I've wished before for a perk multiplier that could be used for special events or to give bonus yields for a "Early/Mid/Late War Week" in the past.  So, I'm definetley for the idea of encouraging and influencing (with an incentive) participation for those who may wish to choose to participate, and not pigeonhole or deprive anything from those players who want to do whatever else they want.
