so it stands to reason that it either IS the factory paint or the most similar colors from RAF stock. Azure Blue is dead wrong for either case.

They had access to azure blue at some point because they sprayed a lot of it on the Ms of the 63rd Sqn.

For a while in 44 they didnt even all carry red cowl markings. The 61st FS was red the 62nd was yeallow and the 63rd blue as in the example below.

You can't be sure what color a 56th P-47 was, and damn sure not dead sure. The only time these guys had their act together markings wise was the first four months of operations.
