I've recently come over from the competition, and so far there's only one thing I don't like: the abrupt way I die. Yesterday I was trying to figure out level bombing. So there I am in my form of three bombers at 28,000 feet over enema AAA. Two of my vehicles were killed out from under me by flak--I didn't even notice until I went external view and there they weren't. Couple seconds later I'm back in the tower instantly: dead according to the text buffer. So the AAA is rather nasty in here, but that's not my beef; in Those Other Games there's a "death cam" that goes automagically external-view and shows you your disintegrating airframe for a few seconds. This no doubt is intended to simulate the real-life experience of your soul leaving its mortal shell or something. Anyway, though way-fake on the face of it, I find that it enhances the supreme moment of sacrifice a great deal. Bouncing instantly to the tower is anticlimax.
