Day/Time slot for next scenario

Hey everyone, we're almost ready to announce the next large multi-frame scenario, but there are just a few issues to finish up on. One of them is the matter of what days and times to run the next scenario on.

Here's the thinking so far on the CM team: Sunday afternoon worked well for "Afrika Corps", as we had at least 150 people for each frame. We did have complaints, however, from people who couldn't make Sundays for whatever reason. They asked us to try to be more flexible. With this in mind, let me tell you the options that have been thrown out(and the arguments for each idea):

*Note*: All times are considered to be Eastern time.

1. Sunday Afternoon: Same as "Afrika Corps. It seemed to be a popular time. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

2. Saturday Afternoon: It's in the middle of the weekend, so almost everyone, no matter where in the world you live, could attend.

3. Friday Nights: Everyone except people in Australia or Hawaii could play without having to take the day off from work. Friday is statistically the most popular day for AH activity.

4. Rotate days: This could be having frame one on Sunday afternoon, then frame two the next Friday night, etc... This allows greater flexibility, but may cause confusion, too.

Let me say that I acknowledge that no matter what we decide, someone is going to be unhappy. I have no illusions about that. With this in mind, I wanted to get your feedback on which of the above options would work best, in your opinion. This thread is my attempt to keep the lines of communication open between the CM staff and the general AH population. Here's your chance to be heard. Thanks for your input.

Sunday afternoons for me - sucks for the guys that can't make it, but it's not hard to free up a Sunday schedule.

I could do a Saturday but I'd gripe about it.

Definitely not a Friday night - better things (or people?   ) to do.

Sat or Sun works for me.  Later in the afternoon the better.  If I got to choose a time, I would say 9:00pm GMT (4pm EST, 1pm PST)

My vote is for Sunday afternoon.

Sunday Afternoon is best for me (Duh thats why Afrika Corps was then  )

Saturdays and Fridays are doable, but much harder to do, because there is much more too do in real life. Women, Beer.... and more Beer

Any time EXCEPT Sunday afternoon.

I think the time should rotate to give as many as possible access.  If someone can't figure out when he is supposed to fly, I don't want him in my flight anyway.

Purely selfish considerations here, obviously:

Saturday afternoon EST is sat. night GMT. Not always possible.

I prefer Sunday afternoons like Afrika - 3pm EST. This is 8pm GMT and even if I go away for the weekend I can still make it back for the event.

Sunday afternoons were great for me in Afrika Corps.  Saturdays would be harder.  Friday Evening would suck

Definitely a "NO" on Fridays fer me.  I have homeruns to hit on Friday nights.  

Sundays seemed to work out ok for the most part with Afrika Korps.  I realize there were a few people who couldnt make those Sunday times.  Saturdays would be harder to do but would prolly be workable.

As a general rule, Sat and Sun afternoons are the worst time for me to attend events.

Any evening is usually no problem, and is when I'd rather spend my play time at the computer anyway.

However, I intend to make special accomidations for my first AH scenario, so I'll be there no matter when it's held.

My vote here, though, is for Friday evenings.  Rotate days is my next choice, and is maybe the best choice, because it gives more people a chance to attend at least a few frames.

It's pretty simple.

If you do it on Friday, it has to be in the evening US time, which means it's in the middle of the night for most non-US people.  BZZT No Friday.

This leaves Saturday or Sunday.  No matter what time you pick, for some people it is in the middle of the night.  If you do it on Sunday then those people have to play in the middle of the night on a night before work.  BZZZT No Sunday.

Therefore Saturday morning or afternoon US time is the best choice, because it is the only choice that does not exclude giant bloody sections of the planet.
