I'm not a fan of search and rescue. Scenario rules are already too complicated and sar complicates things further. Secondly, the way it works now incorporates magical and instantaneous teleportation, and I've always been opposed to the itroduction of magic into the game, instant vehicle repair, see-through clipboards etc. in real life pilots would land and cram their downed buddy into the cockpit and bring them home, I would like to see that enabled. But bailing at sea and being back in a plane 10 minutes later is poop. If a boat picks them up, takes them to shore where a plane or vehicle picks them up and returns them to a base, that would be fine by me. Also, having the extra workload of sar in a scenario in which players get two lives and pilot attrition isn't a victory factor doesn't make much sense to me. The kind folks volunteering to do search and rescue, we could make better use of their time employing them as AA gunners.
