The missions are built and they have no dynamic interface that allows them to start or enable certain numbers of AI according to arena population, etc. They just run whatever they are built with when a staff member loads and starts them.

What end controls the AI, HTC server or the staff's system?

So it sounds like resources aren't a problem and multiple missions could be going at one time!?

How big is the largest mission you've seen posted so far?

Actually, the AI will give you a nasty fight. I went after a formation of 4 and 2 went up to cover their friends and the other 2 came down to turn. The only thing that worked so far was a spiral climb but it may be because their guns suck.

I have missions designed that need to be toned down because they will kill your frame rate before the enemy does.  Plus HTC has in place a system where only so many (64?) planes can show up on your screen at once, so I need to tone down my 200 bomber missions to avoid players being shot by invisible planes. :)

Not sure what you mean. The missions are built ahead of time, you can't change or adjust them on the fly. HTC's servers are the host, it's not like IL2 where you can have a remote server or use your own PC as the server.

So it sounds like resources aren't a problem and multiple missions could be going at one time!?

There may be enough resources to handle it, but it's an option we don't currently have. You can only run one mission at a time, you cannot set the mission to repeat, nor the system to automatically launch missions every hour for example.

Sounds cool. Does your system handle them offline?

The drones are controlled at only one point. It sounds as if in this case that is Htc server. If it was programmed, those drones could be controlled by a players pc. Not in the sense that the player could do whatever they wanted with them, but only that their pc bore the burden of resources. I was just curious because if it's at the players end, I think it means more missions are possible.

I understood all that. It's basically a beta and I think it's heading for something better.
