Bish are Romans. Rooks are Mongols. Knights are Vikings, they don't come for your land. If you keep running to ack though we will de ack the field. And then if you roll flack panzers well burn the VH. If the mood strikes us well burn the whole field, if it gets captured that's just incidental. Bombing knight land is probably relatively safe. Who cares about bombers, bombers can't fight. To a knight fighting isn't an endeavor to be rewarded victory because to a knight fighting is the reward.

Typical thoughts of a fighter pilot. Fighters can't perform large scale bombing raids, even in decent numbers. Flying a fighter over strats is pointless as well. Bombers have their uses. And the 17 is armed to the teeth and is one mean girl,so yeah, they can defend themselves,so I guess you could say they can fight well, just not offensively. Well, unless you're bombing, of course.

As are the fighters that come up to kill me when I'm in a bomber.  One of my favourite flight in AH was helping with a field capture in Lancs and de-perking two guys who thought I would be an easy kill with their 262s.  If it has guns it fights.  There are a couple of Bishops and Rooks who prefer bombers who are every bit as deadly as some of the guys who fancy themselves SH aces in the MA.
Fight's on!

What's the point of attacking a bomber, the chance for a thrilling dogfight against a formation of lancasters? "Hey they'll probably muckup my fighter but at least it won't be any fun."

 :rofl

When I was Rook long ago HiVolt said he doesn't attack rtb bombers. I thought about it every now and then ever since. It seems more likely they're just going to damage you and then their friend will be on you soon enough and now you've got damage. I don't know if that is why he doesn't do it or if it's just not to be a lamer.  Either way if they are done dropping their bombs, someone is probably coming in who is more dangerous...
They're casting their bait over there, see?

For the same reasons as in a real war - victory.  It was fun to get together with others from all over the globe and win that one map as a Knight.   If all I ever did was dogfight other fighters I'd get bored.  Like I've written before, I enjoy all aspects of this game.  The variety is the thing that keeps me here.  Plus, killing bombers in a 51B quickly accumulates perk points for my other favorite fighter - the seahog.

Just want to congratulate Knights on an amazing teamwork we had today.

When I first logged we were getting beat up badly by the bish in the west and rooks in the east. Naturally, we were outnumbered...
Bish massed missions with 38s and raided 3-4 fields in an hour or so.
Then we started calling for troop porking on their fields. Then we retook our vbase.
After that it was an unstoppable steamroll on our side. I'm not talking horde style, but precision timed bombings of towns and fighter/vehicle hangars...
It was amazing, we always had a spare bomber with ords in the air loitering over the base, taking down hangars just seconds after they would pop up...
We retook all of our bases from the bish just as fast as we lost them, and retook all of our bases from the rooks and captured 15% of the rook bases even!

All by simply having bombers always in the air, constant communication of hangar downtimes, having m3s and goons on standby...

Was pretty fun night all in all.

And of course the night shift (or the US dayshift) will lose all the fields again :t :neener:
