"Twist grip" joystick recommendations
« on: September 28, 2013, 09:47:11 PM »
Looking for a "twistgrip" joystick to replace my Logitech 3d. I'm considering the Saitek X52 or the Thrustmaster T-Flight. Wondering if anyone's tried them both or has some other good recommendations. I couldn't find a CH equivalent (at my price range of ~$100).

x52 is a good buy.  i have the ch fighterstick and I bought it because guys kept saying that they had theirs for a few years working great.  when I got mine, it really is a pos.  working on my 3rd one right now.  I really wish I had my old x52.

I have a T-flight after having a couple of Logitechs. The throttle certainly gives some extra functionality for the left hand. I've also tried some X52's just to find out how they feel, as well as CH gear. After a Logi the T-flight will feel more familiar than the more expensive ones, the grip is almost similar although some buttons are either missing or in different places. The X52 instead has more than enough buttons and knobs.

For a one hand twisty I'd recommend the Thrustmaster T-16000m. It's among the most accurate sticks on the market due to its ultra high resolution and HAL sensors. And it has the Logitech measurements, too. IMO it's a little sturdier than the T-flight. I'm currently using the T-flight for throttle and the T-16000m for stick, combined still below your budget!

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.
