Place the map in lap
« on: October 12, 2013, 03:10:19 PM »
The ability to just place the map in the lap of the pilot so looking at the map becomes nothing more then a view command

Would you want the ability to look at the map as it is now taken away?

If not I'd say +1

Yup; on our laps is a great idea instead of in a corner of the monitor.

No. But I think you should have the option of having your lap be the default position

Why? Bomber Pilots and drivers dont have laps?

Still. that is why I suggested making it as an option instead of mandatory. You would still be able to bring the map up or make it dissapear completely just as you normally would. Im simply suggesting that if you wanted it that way. that you could pin it to one location

With the GV setup you don't drive in the tank...only from the tank commander seat and buffs normally fly from F3 mode

You can drive in the tank and use the tank commander. You can also use the pintle gun on the top of some tanks too..

I don't fly in F3 mode when I use bombers. And, like fighters, they have a cockpit.

+1 to wish.

Your going to have to show me this driving in a tank thing....I remember when you used to drive through the little hole....can you still do this?

Also that's great you fly bombers from the cockpit...but majority go to F3 mode a lot while flying them....no lap in open air bud.

I didn't know we had laps in the game. When did they implement this?

As far as I'm concerned, we don't have legs, feet, arms, or hands either!

I'm not sure if I understand the OP.  It sounds like he would like to have the clipboard on his lap, which means we'd have to
advert our eyes from the cockpit to look down at the map.
If that's the case I give this a -1.

It would be optional to have A map placed on your lap.

Personally, I would like it where you could pick what map is on your lap (say from a clipboard map, to the actual map that we see by default via the clipboard) and then have the clipboard come up, if we so wish.  So we can look at the base, and see if any cons are nearby and if we are going to the correct base. But then also be able to look down towards our lap and see a clipboard map or something of that sort.

This again, would be OPTIONAL.

I''m not 100% against this wish.  I just to understand it is all.

My apologies if I sounded like I was yelling or being rude.   Wasn't directed at you, but more to those who don't understand the word optional, and that they have a choice in the matter  :D

thats right. I forgot they got rid of the drivers position in GVs cept for m3s.

Buffs do have cockpits. Ok so limit the option to the commanders positions. In those positions you typivally dont see anything when you look straight down but the seat anyway.

Again Im requesting this as a player controlled option only
