The fact is, the breast is more marketable and easier to talk about then the testicles, ovaries, or the colon.  I'm sorry, but that's the way it is.  Women have breasts, and talk about theirs with other women.  Men like breasts, and talk about how much they like them with other men.

I cannot imagine beating __________ cancer and then thrashing my mom because she's a breast cancer survivor and her form of cancer is more popular than mine.

I lost my ipad, so I have not been on for like a week and this is my first time back since that post...

I love how my post with the video was deleted from the thread... It is amazing that People both complained here and at the Breast Cancer Awareness Organization. They just turned away a check, but yet they want money, WTF? What about all millions of kissing and hug booths that have been set up and raised money for various causes? Why has no one made a big deal out of that?!?! Especially since most of the time, its woman that are selling the kisses!

Its not like they went up to random people and just motorboated them without asking. Im sure every single on of those woman agreed to it, otherwise, they would have been in jail by now.

Still could have been a lot of women refusing that lil stunt and/or complaining, they just didn't show them. ;)

I agree Lusche,I think I stated that also! Joach1m I know they are looking for another charity,it wasn't my point. I think the guys came up with an unusual approach to raise funds, was it PC or not,who the F cares! These guys did something for the overall good and it got poopoo'd on because it was seen as demeaning to women.

Like I said.......   Get off my lawn!!   maybe I'm just an old crusty guy but I think their reasoning is a bit ridicules.

People asking if they would do it for men's testicular cancer are forgetting one key difference. It is men helping a Woman's cause, not three Woman helping a Woman's cause.

Therefore, If Woman want to help a male cause by motor boating males' testicles, then only that would be an equal comparison for a male cause...  :bolt:

Still could have been a lot of women refusing that lil stunt and/or complaining, they just didn't show them. ;)
And that is perfectly fine. Its not like they forced these woman into letting them do it.

The videos can no longer even be seen now on youtube...

My wife's got breast cancer so I guess I'm the odd one out.

Men get breast cancer as well.  At work we just had "Breastaville", yeah a lot of hoopla pointed at one specific cancer but I figure research into any cancer can provide good information about cancer to all cancer victims.

I am a cancer survivor. So I am not at all insensitive when it comes to cancer causes. BUT

Until they show that the value of a mans life is equal to that of a woman and  donate as much attention to mens cancers who kill at least as as many men a year as women cancers kill women. You will never see me wear pink nor donate in any way shape or form to breast cancer awareness.

Sorry bro, I'm not motor boatin' your apple.  I bet Midway would though.

The problem is the disproportionate money sent to breast cancer charities. My grand mother died of breast cancer and it sucks . But Prostate cancer in the US alone effects as many men as breast cancer but receives only 10% of the funding . This means that there is almost no national screening programs for a cancer that can quickly spread to the colon , stomach , testicles and rectum .  It can quickly change from a type 1 cancer (easier to treat and have a 70% chance of living longer  than 5 years ) to a type 4 (less than 30% chance of living 18 months) . Yet it's poo pooed by feminists , general public as a minor thing .

The same can be said of cervical cancer . While only one type of cancer gets the lime light overs others that  have a very fast effect on peoples well being many sufferers will be denied treatment that they deserve as human beings .  It's the same reason I've always hated Livestrong foundation.

Bingo!

This is the point. and like I said I'm not at all insensitive to people wish breast or any other kind of cancer. I myself am a survivor Next month it will be 20 years from my diagnosis and in June it will be 20 years from my last treatment. And to this day there are certain smells particularly certain perfumes that have the ability to make me sick to my stomach.. So its not like the passage of time has lessened my memory of the experience which can best be described as pure terror.

My grandmother had breast cancer and currently a friend of the family has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

My mother in law died from bladder cancer, My father in law was diegnosed and successfully treated for colon cancer

I have no problem donating for cancer and do so myself. What I have the problem with is the hoopla thats made for certain cancers but not for others that have basically the same mortality rate for no other real reason then because one is sexy and the other one isnt.

Triton. You are absolutely correct when you say "The fact is, the breast is more marketable and easier to talk about then the testicles, ovaries, or the colon."  Does that mean it shouldn't be?  Is that the excuse a wife or a child or a father and mother should be given when they look into their husbands or fathers or sons casket? "It wasnt marketable enough. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is."?

Im not thrashing anyone with cancer. In fact I look upon anyone who has or had had cancer almost like part of the family because we all share something in common that those who havent experienced it could never hope ot understand. Kinda like combat. Unless you've personally experienced it. You dont get it.

Let me ask you(anyone). Who's life is more important to you? Your mothers or your fathers? Your sons or your daughters?
Do they not share equal value?

Would you be more readily willing to sacrifice one over the other to diseases that have the same rate of diagnosis and mortality  because one is more marketable then the other? Because one is a male and the other female? Because her breasts are prettier to look at then his testicles. Because men should simply accept death or we should accept the death of men more so then women because its the manly thing to do?

Because that is essentially what you're doing and tolerating

(yes I know men get breast cancer too. But it its still essentially a woman's disease)

In case you aren't aware, you can use www.guidestar.org to look at different charity's tax forms. The small percentage of funds that actually go towards the particular causes is appalling.
