A skin request for my Uncles B24
« on: October 28, 2013, 11:24:45 PM »
My Uncle Bill was a radio operator/gunner in 24s for the 567BS in the 389BG of the 2ndWing of the 8thAF
at Hethel AB near Norfolk.
He joined up at 20, went to England in June '44, did his 30 missions and in Dec of '44
returned to the USA.

The only known photo of the aircraft is as follows:

The outside of the vertical fins are all black with a white vertical stripe.
In the centre of the stripe is the aircrafts radio call letter(RCL), a capital U with underscore. That means the _ was placed under the letter.

The RCL was repeated on the fuselage aft of the Squadron Code, in this case HP. The 'HP' was black in colour as was the RCL, but the RCL
is, as you can see, of a smaller print size than the squadron code. The top of the RCL is even with the tops of the squadron code.

On the inside of each fin in black was the number 251109.

On top of the starboard wing is a black circle with a white capital C in the centre.

The aircrafts name is 10 Shillin Annie. Where "10 Shillin" is in quotes with block letters,
and 'Annie' is in script as pictured with out any quotes.

The black area just under the co pilots window is extra armour plate that was repeated on the pilots side.
The top of the nose between the windscreen and the nose turret is anti reflective paint.

I hope that one the AH artists can replicate this AC to honor my uncle.

Thank you.

If I had ANY clue on how to skin a bomber I would, but if I have the time to I will try to learn if someone doesn't get to it before I do.

I can skin that aircraft for you Kenne, but not at the moment. Maybe in a month or two.
