Not far as I recall.  A dozen miles or less I think.

It was a bad death for the crew.  The one who's parachute failed certainly had the cleanest exit.  They walked more than 100 miles in the Sahara before succumbing.

The 17f and 17g may be close but the P-47 25 and 40 are near identical, along with a couple P-40's that are near identical.The B-24 D is a good idea also. If the 17f had less firepower and less arc of fire, that's the way it was.If you want to make this real, make it real. :salute
