Tu-2.  It is faster and likely more agile.  It is true that the B-26's defenses are superior though.

It's actually the other way around. A-26 is significantly faster than Tu-2.

I did as he said B-26 and I ignored the invader bit.

I don't think the A-26 and Tu-2 share the same mission as one is an attack aircraft and the other is a level bomber.  The A-26 is also likely to be perked while the Tu-2 probably won't be.

A-26C is a level bomber which was what I was thinking, both noses could be included in the load outs like with the B-25C.

Ah.  I think that many of us have a fighter bias and so tend to focus on the hard nosed versions of the A-26.
