at 1:27 you can see the target plane actually warping

That's not a warp. That's a zoomed in view of my hitting (shooting down) a P-47 then pulling back on the stick.
Zoomed in views will move the target aircraft out of view dramatically.

All in all, it is good for HTC to be put in front of prospective players.  I'm glad they did, lets hope more players tune in.

Agreed!  :aok

I liked the video but I didn't like the music... :D

In the game when the light source is in the 2 hours at and just after dawn, or before evening. Our game has a very WT look. Or that CGI movie look. When the source is for all intensive purposes the whole sky during the rest of the time. The haze effect along with the flat paint finishes on most aircraft and vehicles. Gives the signature Aces High washed out look I've come to accept for the last decade.

In real life I've flown in places that look like the MA during the hazy washed out daytime. San Antonio around late July, early August or BWI in august comes to mind. Or Peshawar Pakistan early July just before the monsoon moves in. In both cases it's a product of heat and particulate matter in the atmosphere.

Our current haze is very realistic but, there is just a limit to the haze in the world from place to place. Definitely more clouds, and crisp azure days in the fall and winter.

What ever is happening during early morning and evening is fantastic color and light wise even in the cockpit. Wish during the full daylight it didn't just goto flat bright luminous washout and haze. But kept that early light CGI movie look. I suspect if I turned everything up in the graphics controls for the game so my FPS was single digits. I could sit on the runway at high noon and enjoy those light effects versus playing the game. So could everyone else if looking was all anyone wanted to do for $14.95.

Setting it to music and timing shots with the beat and flow really affect the video. If you can get the lyrics to  tie into the scene somehow then it enforces this.

(I hope this is the right link, I am at work and cannot see youtube  :uhoh)

I know that is not the best quality but it does show what I mean. Also trying to make sure there are no shots that hover on the large poly mountains does help too. AH has some great landscapes with great textures but you need to show them.

I think if I saw the video and wasn't already here I wouldn't subscribe.

To me the graphics looked outdated (which in-game I don't feel) and it lacked the excitement of the game.  Overall, communication between friendlies and in-cockpit views would have done a lot more for me.  To me the old video of the fighter straffing the train (which you never see in the game) was much more enticing than anything I saw here.

I hate always being the naysayer in these threads but I tell it like I see/feel it.  On a positive note at least there's an effort being made.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

There is a long term plan and this is just the start.  We were not expecting everyone to like it.

We appreciate the concern, and the opinions.  To have people talking about it, is not a bad thing.

May I say Skuzzy, that although I was not keen on the video, I did think that the write up was good! I am glad to finally see some real advertisement going on (Being in the UK, I don't see any of the commercials people talk about) and I applaud anything that you as the creators do to help get people into the game.

It is a great game, and I feel one thing that must now be done is for the community itself to pull itself together and start acting like adults and not a COD forum, which is what it seems like at times here. We need to start being more supportive of everyone. WE are already good, but a lot of the bickering lets it down.

I am glad there is a long term game plan and I look forward to seeing how this materialises. Again, I applaud the work that you are putting into this and I do not think any comments here should be taken so much as 'They don't like it' but more as 'it might work better if this happened'. Constructive criticism has been a big thing in all creations here, be they skins, terrains, sounds or films. We are simply trying to find ways to help you out Skuzzy

Just so you're aware, bustr, it's for all intents and purposes. I made that mistake for a long time myself!

I'm partially dyslexic. I can write "tickled pink". My wife says she has never heard(herd) :) me say it other than "pickled tink". My brain sees intensive in a literal. At least I spelled it correctly. We could be pulling our hair out over effect and affect.
