We had a guy get out on the jump step and his main chute popped out and went around the tail of the aircraft. Even with the fact this guy was a new skydiver he cut his main chute and jumped with his reserve. The rest of us all jumped as fast as we could get out the door. However the chute on the tail of our jump plane came off and the pilot landed fine. However I did end up in a tree with $400.00 damage to my chute.

Their was no damage to the plane so after repacking our chutes we jumped a second time that day but I had to rent gear since mine was damaged. All except the guy who had to use his reserve, He went home that day. I did see him the following weekend at another airfield in Arcadia and he was back at it. I loved skydiving but can't afford to do it now that I am retired.

More along the lines of, was nearly crushed between them.  Had the impact been any harder to cause the wing on his plane to buckle as well, then his chances would've been near zero.  The question is, who's at fault?  It would appear that it's the video source plane's fault.  He's above and behind the other plane, which would mean he's wing, not lead. :headscratch:

The planes did not collide. It only looked like they had a collision from the plane that took damage. It's complicated but Skuzzy can explain it.

Was asked the other day whether I'd ever gone sky-diving.

This is one of the reasons why I've never done so, and never will.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Yet I bet you think nothing of jumping in a car and making head on passes with people you don't know at closing speeds over 100mph  (you know, just driving down the highway).   :devil
