What's not to like, the lines are beautiful on that airplane.

I think the modern day equivalent of beauty has to be the F-16.

isnt there a walking stick on the left of frame pointing to a bullet hole in the roundel and the man on the wing is saying:
"It came from up there...I swear!"

... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Looks like he's wearing a USAAF A-2 leather jacket with a standard USAAF officer's cap.
