Italian planes
« on: November 12, 2013, 02:51:17 PM »
Again I beg for more Italian planes, Re 2005's or Fiat G 55's or something. I think they even had a four engine bomber with a respectable bomb load. They had the last modern bi-plane used in the war. Give the Italians something.

+1 for both the Re.2005 and G.55.

-1 for the P.108.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

C.200 and CR.42 would be super cool :aok
Finns used the C.200 and the CR.42 was used in the Spanish Civil War
A few important biplanes from important powers would be cool in general... the Gladiator, Hs 123, and И-153

Don't  be a beggar...   I'd like to see the SM79, though - mainly because it looks really unusual and would be great for scenarios.   CR42s and Saettas would be good, too.  The only problem is that there are other aircraft that this game needs more.   I'm thinking Beaufighter and Tu-2.   I know that the Pe-2 was built in greater numbers, but the Tu-2 would see vastly more MA use.   Those Italian aircraft are interesting and good looking (like me), but the Beaufighter and Tu-2 should come first.

+1 on the Italian plane set. I also feel the Japanese plane set could have a few additions.

I would put the need to fill out the Japanese plane set much more so than the Italian plane set.  In the scheme of things, Japan was a far much larger player in the war than Italy was and is grossly under represented for being one of the 5 major combatants.

Actually neither is true. The Italian fighter Finns had was Fiat G.50 and the CR.42 wasn't yet operational during Spanish civil war but CR.32 was.

:aok The KI-43 was a great addition and if other Japanese planes fly like that one lets get more of them. However the addition of Italian planes like the SM.79 the G.55 the MC.200 or even an older bird like the G.50 would be welcome with me.

Very true, I always stressed for having more "Burma campaign" aircraft as well as Japanese, along with the Italian aircraft. My reason is we have hardly anything for the Burma Campaign - now we do! Hurricane B, Ki-43 were common plane sets in Burma, wellington bomber and G3m (however Betty will do just fine).
I would like to see the Burma and Singapore campaigns soon, but we would need the Beaufort bomber, not sure how side balancing would work out being the Dutch only had a few fragment squadrons in the area. But with more japanese plane sets we can add addition scenarios to the Pacific.

Italian theater I wouldn't mind having a Gothic line type Scenario, Allies would be after factories and GV bases while the Axis hopelessly try to defend - poleski raid would be included in that as well.
