I started designing a ship in Space engineers, and after a couple of hours I got a message stating I'm out of memory and I can not build anymore  :bhead


I had the same problem. Just save the game and carry on. if it gets really frequent, save, exit and relaunch. As long as you have a reasonable computer it wont crash. There is also some unofficial patches on the forums that disables this feature If you search.

Also I made it to all the kerbal planets before nodes were added, just saying  :D
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

:headscratch: I think the planets came in at the same time maneuver nodes came along... I could be wrong though

Flying in space with a rudimentary computer is "cheating" ?  Guess all the Apollo guys are nothing but a bunch of lame-o cheaters then...

MechJeb is rudimentary? It does basically everything for you apart from design the rocket... :old:

I should admit that do use it myself, but only for the useful windows displaying useful information that isn't part of the regular GUI...not for autopilot + autoplotting

AS long as you know the basics of orbital mechanics, flying rockets manually quickly becomes boring. Tedious even. To me (and many others I'm sure) the fun is in designing the rockets/stations/bases and building up a big space program. MechJeb allows me to fly the rockets in a consistent way so I can focus on making them more efficient, and adding new tech as it becomes available. I'm sure you can build a huge space station by flying manually (and I'm sure someone have), but I'm not going to risk destroying it on the umpteenth docking attempt by fumbling on the keyboard.

The Apollo flight computers did most if not all of what MechJeb does; the lander even had an auto-land computer, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over "cheating"...

That was actually quite terrible. NASA redesigned it after Apollo 11 because of Neil having to land it manually because it was descending in an unsafe spot. It had many errors... such as 1012 and 1011, 1011 being a total computer restart if to much information be thrown at the mainframe processor. So... it wasn't really autopilot that did the trick for Apollo 11...

I feel that all the fun is sucked out of KSP with mechjeb. KSP is supposed to be a challenge, not punch in some numbers and take a nap. I'll accuse you of cheating all I want.  :neener:

My point was, the computer downright sucked. EVERY mission reported at least 3 error 1012 or 1011's during the automated landing. The thing worked only if the pilot was aiding the system. The LEM landings were a combination of pilot and computer.

I like mechjeb. Primarily for the gui info and the smart a.s.s functions. You don't have to use any of it if you don't want to. I do burns, landings, flight paths, etc manually because I enjoy having to do something. But why spend time working out the maths side of things after the first few flights? That's what computers were invented for.

This is sort of how I see it.  The exception being that I really do want to understand how to do it manually, but the steep learning curve and my inability to find a good walkthrough (that I can follow and understand) is below my want to do all of the stuff that you can do using mechjeb (but not 2.0, for some reason it is so different I literally cant use it)
