...sounds easy.
It isn't.
Two weeks before the Institute of Chartered Accountants 40th Anniversary Golf Tournament we had only 10 teams signed up. Not even enough money left over for prizes, that were already purchased.
The deal with this thing is, if you win it, you organise it the next year. I had only one firm member playing in my team last year, and she left leaving me to do this thing by myself after we won.
But, eventually things came together.
We had homemade soup, made by my wife, for everyone when checking in. (She recieved a marriage offer over the crab and corn bisque..lol) We had a Beat the Pro competition on a par 3 in which those who did manage to beat him were entered into a shootout at the end of the day. The shootout took place on the 9th hole and everyone was able to eat (Roast beef cavery and a bunch of other stuff, like meatballs, wings, etc etc) while watching it. We had a hole in one competition on the 17th hole to win a new Jeep Compass and we had all the standard "closest to the pin" and "longest drive" competitions.
By the time we tee'd off we had 17 teams, one short of a full compliment (they dropped out the day before).
It went well.
Deloitte's team won, which gave me a smile because they are always a firm who do not participate in these events normally. I had to twist a few arms to get them to enter a team. They did not even read the forms that told them they would be organising if they won, they found out when I handed them the trophy. The GPS watches they each won probably helped a bit though.
Here's a vid with pics in it if interested. You need to set the resolution to 720p.....does anyone know how to FORCE a video to be played in that resolution on youtube? Default to it perhaps? I can't see where or how to do that in my video manager.
