Carpet bombing GVs with heavys has been around for the whole time I have played.

As to the attack score, well heavy bombers don't have attack scores and if you do use a Lanc, B17 etc to bomb GV's you hurt your bomber score, as your dropping 3 bombs to hit one target.

Exactly.
If anything, carpet bombing Gvs in heavies wrecks your bomber score, as you gain nothing in actual score from it -kills don't count in score and your hit % and damage/sortie will go down. Someone bombing GVs in a Lancaster is clearly not doing it for score and not even perks (Lancs have low ENY).

And even for the few bombers that have "attack" mode (like Ju-88, B-25C) you don't gain much, especially not at the top ('frontpage') ranks - your damage hit % will again go down with each drop, and kill related score categories are just a part of your attack score.

I bet if Lusche posted the Air to ground kills the A-20 followed by a bunch of american bombtrucks would be top of the list

In the current year's list of A2G kills, the A-20 indeed leads (1.9% of all GV kills), the Il2 is #4 (0.91%), the Lancaster #5 (0.90%). The next heavy bomber is the B-17 at #23.

In my (subjective) experience, relatively few GV kills by the Lanc come from carpet bombing spawns or friendly towns, but attacking enemy bases (mostly ports/vbases)

Someone will up buffs, white flag their own town then switch sides and spawn in an M3 for the take.  No thanks.

When I see him flying on the deck he's usually trying to sucker fighters into attacking his formation of Death Stars. That's legit gameplay as far as I'm concerned, he's beating them with superior gunnery skills. Looking at his stats he kills a lot more fighters than GVs in his buffs.

-1 to 5k minimum altitude for bombing - it's a cure that's worse than the problem. However, I'd love to see no bomb drop from any position/view but the bombsight for planes that have a bombsight, and no bomb drop at any attitude more than 10 degrees from the horizontal from heavy bombers. Wouldn't stop carpet bombing of friendly towns, but it would stop the ridiculous use of Lancs as dive bombers.

-100 to taking out friendly buildings, for reasons mentioned several times already by others - the potential for abuse is way, way worse than the current situation. Perhaps a better solution would be to have the above restrictions, plus no GV icons, friendly or enemy, appear in bombsight or F3 view? Not sure if that's technically feasible the way the game is programmed, though.

I see it more against CVs than against GVs.

I think any weapon coming off a friendly airplane should have a kill shooter reaction. Your the last tank in town surrounded by gv and along comes your bud in a lanc dropping 1krs all over you. He should receive damage if you are in splash range.

Why don't the buildings in town blow up when the nme comes in to carpet bomb the attacking gv'ers? I'm in town, shooting buildings in a M4. The knits (hehehe) up 2 sets of Lancs to carpet bomb town, which of course kill me. Come back and after 78,000 lbs. of ordnance, no additional buildings are down!? Don't seem right.
