Butcher, what book is that from, I'm just wondering if I have it around the house. Showing the F, is great and I thank you for it. My pic is clearly a G-3. And clearly a different aircraft and pick, so imo its just helping us to get to the goal.

Now is that the same F we have in game? What F model DO we have?

The book is called Monogram Close-up #8 the 190F

We have the 190F-8, what this is showing is the 190F-8/R1, however as the photo says, the new bomb racks were introduced in late 1944 (September+) It was cheaper to build and able to haul far heavier loads. Problem is the 190F8 series was modified and updated quite a few times.
One thing Tank did was discontinue the 190G series and continue to upgrade 190F8 series.

How HTC wants to do this I have no clue, I would assume if he adds the 190F-9 to the game, he can easily add the racks for the 190F8. My biggest problem is the early 190f8 models did not have these racks installed, what was produced in large numbers is what we have in game 190F-8. However later in the war, modifications were always made, in this case a newer and cheaper rack was built and added to whatever was in production.

But what important is that, functionally, there was virtually no difference between the base model 190F-8, and all of its various /R and /U subvariants. Same engine used, with exception of the F-8/U3, which received the uprated 801S engine, IIRC. Same airframe, same propeller, same exhaust, same guns (mostly). Biggest difference was the bomb racks and internal equipment such as radios and the like.

There's literally not a single solitary thing standing in the way of giving the 190F-8 more of its historical ordnance options (3 250kg bombs included), save for HTC's level of interest.

Oh, and I can't recall, did we ever settle the 2 250kg + 1 500kg bomb matter? Best I can remember, it was entirely possible to do without any modification to the U1 subvariant, but we lacked definitive photographic evidence.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

From what I gather, it was possible to use - whether it was used or not? I think only one squadron in Italy used it - SG4 and KG51 on the eastern front. From what I seen it was used in combat, even if it was a very small scale. However - this was such a late modified F-8 its hard to say whether our F-8 would be updated.

why not just add the FW-190 G series, this was the long range varient with three hard points for bombs or drop tanks.   it could use one bomb in center  and two drop tanks...or two bombs outboard and a drop tank or three bombs.

Because its an entirely new aircraft, would require a new skin, new modeling for weight and center of gravity beyond the ordnance loadouts, changed armament, and the end result would essentially give us a very slightly more flexible 190F-8/U1.

HTC could give us almost all of the options the 190F-8 had using only components that are in the game, no new modeling required.

190F-8: in game (duh)
ETC 503 bomb rack: in game
300L drop tank: in game
250kg bomb: in game
1000kg GP bomb: in game
1000kg AP bomb: in game

The only thing that would require entirely new visual modeling would be the 4 50kg bomb rack on the centerline, and the torpedoes/racks for the /U2 should they choose to add it.

I'm a bit inclined to doubt it. The F-8 seems to have used mostly the same engine from mid production run onwards (notable exception being the /U3).

If only it were that easy.   :aok

Me thinks it would make far great er sense for HTC to just add the 3/250kg bomb and 8/50kg bomb options to the 190F-8 since it appears that the F-8 did in fact carry those ordnance options.
