Can't Log into the MA

Anyone else having an issue logging into the MA.  I can get into the other arenas, but when i try to log into the MA i immediately get a "Host Lost Connection" window, yet i still see someone typing from time to time.  Any Clues?

I just tried it, from home, and everything seems to be normal.

Are you getting the message when you try to login?  Or are you getting the message when you select an arena from the list on the clipboard?

I get the message after the MA tries to load.  I log in fine, can select the other arenas and get them to load, can chat in the DA, but when i tried to load the MA it would go thru its sequence, load everything then as soon as the screen turned to the command hut the msg was waiting for me, i could even see a few line of types, but could not type back, or load anything off the clipboard, i had to hit "ok" and it exited the program.

I am having similar issue. I get messages ranging from host connection lost to file errors with world.cfg to ai crashing my plane. I keep getting blue screens.

IMO blue screens refer to a more serious problem than Host Connection Lost. Start with a memory test. If that fails, replace your power supply with a known-good one and run the memtest again. If it still fails, test your RAM sticks one at a time. To start with...

And of course read the blue screen. If it clearly says that your video card driver has caused an issue, reinstalling the driver might help. Not to mention de-dusting.

This sounds like a resource issue, or possibly an anti-xxxx program interfering with the game.  Resource is easy.

In "Video Settings"
Try setting the "Maximum Texture Size" to 256.
Set anti-aliasing to 0 (disable it)

In the game under Options->Graphic Detail, check all the options which contain the word "Disable".
In the Options->Graphic Detail->Advanced panel, UNcheck all the options, EXCEPT "Detailed Water".

Now test your connection to the "Main Arena".  By the way, the game will look pretty bad with that set of options.

If you get in fine, then your computer has some resources issues which is causing it to take to long for the main arena to load.  Post a DXDIAG output and let's see if we can figure out the best set of options to run with.

An anti-xxxx program WILL slow the load of resources, significantly.  If you are running Norton or McAfee, then you are not going to be able to stop them from slowing the loads of the game data.

Ill do all this, but i have been playing the game fine all day, i had to log off, went to log back on and now it is doing it again, which is about the same time it started happening the other night.  If it is a resource issue, wouldn't it be constant and me not able to play in the MA at any time as opposed to being intermittent?

Could it be a connection issue then? If it occurs the same time every day, could it just be possible that there's a big transaction going on somewhere on the route, sharing the connection you use? Am I right to suggest that the less populated areas have a smaller download during login, at least concerning the player roster? Here in Finland we used to have an issue at 9 pm local time, because the British banks sent their data at that time. An hour later everything was smooth again. A couple of traceroute reports might sort this out, one from the time when everything works and another immediately when not.

Resource usage can change, especially if you computer has some type of malware, spyware, bot, or virus on it.  Resource requirements change in the game too, depending on how busy the field is in the main arena where you are logging into.

However, you can rule out network errors using Ping Plotter and run it to 71.252.137.149.  Sometimes it is as simple as a drastic spike in activity over the network connection which causes the game to have to wait for data long enough that it times out.
