Extreme Planes
« on: November 30, 2013, 03:44:28 AM »
We had a issue with this in our 1v1 session tonight.....not talking MA but DA while we are fighting in a fixed setup.

planes that are considered an extreme (may not be all of them)

P51D
Tempest
190D9
Brewster
A6M
Hurri
F4U4

Some of these planes can be flown in a way that they don't meet the criteria for being an Extreme plane in the DA. If I meet a A6M co Alt in the MA im going to extend away and BnZ it to death, in our fights between 23-24 we aren't looking for that....we can find that plenty in the MA. We are looking to put our skills to the test in random rides that can sort of compare overall. nothing is out turning a hurri brew i16 or a6m except one of them....get one im saying?(yes lucky stall shots and flat out pilot skill can effect that)

Was overall some fun fights in the DA tonight except a mishap with a player not understanding what 1v1 is but that's ok....I know trying to rolling scissor against SkyRock's -1 in a G2 ends up with me dead. Just wanted to post this so some understand what we mean by extreme planes(not the same as easy mode)

P-51D is nothing extreme.  Only does 368mph on the deck, well below the Tempest and La-7.  No better than the much better accelerating Bf109K-4.

For extreme turning the Ki-43-II trumps all others.  The Brewster isn't even close.

So, ignoring jets:

Deck speed:
Tempest Mk V
La-7

Speed at altitude:
Ta152H-1
P-47M
P-47N

Turning:
Ki-43-II
A6M2

Climbing:
Bf109K-4
Spitfire Mk XIV
Spitfire Mk XVI
Spitfire Mk VIII

Ordnance load, fighter:
P-47N
P-47D-40

Karnak you are correct but with some of those planes people tend to actually fight them....lots of times 51Ds just blow by extend to 3k then blow by again, that's why I put it there.

I forgot about the ki43

One sidenote to Junky, an i16 is actually a very poor turnfighter.
