I have a 980ti and a core i5 at 4.5 ghz.....large fields drop me into the 40s when ack fires. It normal sits at the 144 fr cap everywhere else.

Maybe it's the animation of all the guns turning to fire at the plane that does it. Whatever it is, it's related to the guns firing.

When you're comparing sizes, don't only look at length, err graphics hardware and settings (for settings, don't forget FoV), but also at what kind of screen sizes you're using.

Can't remember issues the the large fields, but what's causing a big FPS hit are clouds.

I agree, but for a different reason, at least on the current map (Ndsiles?)...

The really big bases are very hard to take on Crater, but on the current map it's nearly impossible: very long drive for spawn and you pretty much need a GV assault to take one. The central ex-Vbses (now airbases) are a good thing, but switching the large airbases on the margins of the central island to megabases is not. No one bothers trying to take them because it's a waste of manpower to try, so that directs combat away from those bases. Why even bother to have them then?

I don't think I get any frame drops near a friendly one of these....it really could be fully tied to the AAA.

ewwww just experienced it on CraterMA to day flying--but I don't think removing the airfield will solve the problem
