This Mustang owner likes the new look.  They are definitely moving toward a new modern look but still retained classic mustang lines.

Ford has not released official power figures for the GT but have stated there will be an increase.  My guess is close to 450 HP at the crank.

Rumor has it there will not be a supercharged Shelby GT500.  I hope this is untrue. What speculation I have read is they will go with a SVT designed GT350 which will be naturally aspirated.  The car supposedly will be race inspired - read really lightened track car.

I will wait and see.  I am considering selling my 2010 here in Europe hoping to get more money out of the car.  I have had a few serious offers from locals but at the time had no desire to sell the car.  I have too much money in it to sell it in the States.

i found a rumor the other night, that that gt350 you mentioned is supposed to be the answer to the z28. if it is, i would presume it'll be just like gt500 vs zl1.....'cept that with the irs, the z's gonna have more trouble with this, than the zl has with the gt500

(Image removed from quote.)

Widewing's posted photo's from Car and Driver are not the actual car but renderings of What C&D thought the car would look like. The actual car is better looking.

so for $30k less, you get more hp, back seat, and a ford that'll plant yer eyeballs in the back of yer head, and corner almost as well as a zl1. hhmm....seems like a no brainer to me.  :devil

Yeah, but it also looks a hell of a lot nicer.

I have 100 more HP than a Z06 and I can't keep up with them.  Corvettes are just frickin fast.

i never try to compare a mustang to a vette. if ford put the gt40 back in the lineup....that'd be a comparison........

also don't forget....that z06 is about 300-500# lighter than your stang.

Also likely a bit more aerodynamic without that blunt front-end.

I think this counts for more than top-end performance 99.999% of us will never ever use at any point during the life of the car.
You might not use it but I sure as hell will when I get the chance to take it down to the drag strip.

That's true.  I have had my car over 300 KPH but I have no desire to do it on a frequent basis.  Bad things can happen at insane speeds

Easily. The margin for error starts to plummet once you cross the 100mph threshold.

Ford has let me down too many times to ever buy another one of the cars again.
Trucks, yes. Cars, no way. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice (at the cost of a new automatic tranny with only 122k miles on the Mustang) shame on me again.

The next 'muscle car' (if I ever purchase one) will NOT be a Ford unless of course it's a classic car.

The last two generations of mustang were directly influenced by the aston martin's previous generation model.

The current mustang is  no different.

The interesting part is that the aston martin vantage was influenced by the early mustang so it comes full circle.
