Death not registered
« on: December 07, 2013, 03:19:54 PM »
Has anyone ever been shot down--killed, and then noticed that their death did not register in their stats? Just curious. Mahalo.

every once in a while, I'll shoot down somebody with nobody around and get not even an assist.  the guy had a good plane as far as I can tell.  also once or twice this year, i got killed and the message indicated that the guy who killed me was actually flying next to me in the furball.

Only when nobody could claim the kill, for example if the guy shooting me down dies first and nobody around to collect the proxie.
But every death I ever had with someone getting the credit, registered, without any exception.

Stuff happens. Just this morning I was up on a perch over an enemy field. F4U lifted, I waited for him to clear his ack and dove down to help back to the tower. He exploded mid-air, no message appeared on my screen. I was the only friendly in the sector and he was only red guy according to dar bar. I did not check to see if anything was "credited" back in the hanger but the kill message never did show.

I have been shot down and it was recorded as "killed in a chute" before. Could that be what happened to you?

I have shot down planes probably a dozen times this year and there wasn't either an assist or kill message.

Last month, before I had yet been killed, I got shot down, couldn't bail. My plane was on fire, then exploded, bam, back in the tower. The next day I was pleasantly surprised to see that my stats showed me still free of deaths. Also, my stats still showed me with no bailouts, no ditches, nothing. Clean record.

I wish it would happen more often!  :)

Had this issue today as well. Killed an enemy after a 1v1 in a canyon and had no message, not even an assist. Stuff happens, oh well.  :)

I got an assist in a fresh sortie, just a bit ago. I think about 3-5minutes had passed since I had last shot at any plane. I know I have gotten the assist on a fresh sortie when I just put rounds into a plane but I died before I could finish it off. That has only happened when I immediately re-up. What just happened, I did not re-up immediately...
They're casting their bait over there, see?

The only death I've noticed not being registered are those of 3 people I shot down in one sortie in a Spit V some weeks back.
I got the "You shot down" notifications. But despite a 1.46 multiplier, I was awarded zero points and also there was no "'gametag' landed 3 victories" message.

Would have been my first 3 kill sortie :joystick:  I felt cheated!

And no, these were not proxy kills.  One was a wing off a Jug. The other was an insta-kill on a 109 via a canon round into the cockpit. And the last was a flamed Zeke.  In all three engagements I was the only one shooting at them.
I landed perfectly safely at a friendly airfield and got a "You have landed" notification.
