I dont think you would know how to have fun even if you had hand cream

I have fun everytime I play. It's just getting harder and harder to find it.
Speaking as someone who considers himself an average dogfighter (but still probably better at it then about 50% of the active pilots) I have to agree with Dolby on this one. My family drama and work related travel aside, I've not felt all that compelled to login because it's gotten a bit stale in the MA of late. I'm hopeful it will pick up soon.
On the other hand, the in-game egos were also a contributing factor to my taking a break I was a bit tired of the whines from those who want every fight in a local furball to be some kind of ritualistic duel i.e. Achilles and Hector at the Gates of Troy. That is one game negative, however, I can personally fix (e.g. Not monitoring ch200 for the time being, auto squelch whining PMs, etc etc etc).
You are far from average. I'm sure Lusche would be able to place you, but I'm sure your in the top 20% easy. SO why was game play stale? Was it you were tired of dodging HO's? Or maybe fighting 5 guys at once ALL the time was getting and getting shot down all the time was weighing on you? Maybe the lack or any real missions with planning other than everyone grab a heavy fighter and fly NOE to such and such a base?
semp you need to be able to describe what us vets call a fight. I dont think you understand.
If he were to describe it it would be be something about like, "You get 5 or 6 of your buddies and join a mission. Have a few beers while on climb out and then lawndart or circle a field with your ord waiting for something to come up so you can bomb it"
you are right I dont understand what you old timers call fun. please explain it to me and try not to include the "look hitech, he wont let me have fun" statement.

Again avoiding the question. He didn't ask anything about fun, he asked what you the vets think are fights.
