Early Santa
« on: December 22, 2013, 10:19:02 AM »
:airplane: Guess I should have made this question to you guys before I bought, but my CH fighter stick, pedals and throttle, went out 3 days ago. The brakes went out about 8 months ago after about 4 months of use. So I decided to purchase the X-52 system with rudder pedals and would like to hear your comments pro or con, so that I will know what to look for in setting them up and using.
Any comments would be appreciated!

Thanks

Earl

Never owned/used that set, myself. Did run across these diagrams, if they mean anything to you:

Merry Christmas, Earl. My family and I wish you the best.

I had the X52 for years. A lot of people complain about them but I only had to replace my joystick once over about a 7 year period.

I've had my X52 for over 5 or 6 years now without any real problems. I heard a lot of people saying that the X52 has calibration issues but I've never had any of that with mine.

Through all these years now the only problems I have with it is the D button on the throttle is a bit touchy and will double activate sometimes, one of the directions on the 4 way hat switch on the throttle is also touchy and double activates, and the cup sitting under the spring on the stick is pretty worn so the stick will be stuck when trying to perform maneuvers sometimes. I fixed that by putting a piece of cloth under the cup, played with it for about a week, took the cloth back out and the stickiness was solved for a few months.

Ive had three of them thru the years. They are inexpensive and work fairly well. I stayed with them cause Im used to them.

I guess i could recomend them. Whatever you do keep you receipt and register it with Saitek. They have like a 2 year return policy, tho support for the X52 is hard to come by.

Were I younger and really into flight games I'd probably spend the money and buy a Warthog. Im not flying anymore so my X52 is put away for a sunnier day.

Saitek is poo.
Fulcrum is a control stick snob.
Zach is awesome.

 :D

FYI - thanks for the diagraming idea.  I should throw one together for my setup....even I get confused on occasion!  ;)

I had the X52 for about a week. After using FFB for years it felt like holding  a mop in a bucket.  Straight traded that pos out for another ffb.

Been using  my X52 for about 6 years. I personally love it, although I do use CH rudder peddles. I'd say the biggest issue you will have is getting use to how flimsy the stick is. Will take a couple months to get use to
