Geez...I just thought about it and I've owned WAY too many joysticks.
- I owned CH sticks back in the gameport days....fantastic quality. I also owned one of the old Suncom F15 sticks which I liked even better but it didnt have the quality of the CH stick (it was still very good...so much so I'm considering modding one for USB for my son).
- I had (and still own) a Microsoft Precision Pro and it still works no spiking...MS actually made good hardware for a long time. It was my first USB stick.
- I tried Saitek. Had the X45. Had the X52. Had the X52 pro. All crap. All died within a year.
- Few years back I bought the Logitech G940. Loved force feedback (it was my first FFB stick) but the reversal bug drove me mad. Finally got a modded Thrustmaster Cougar for cheap and loved it so much I bought the Warthog a year later. And now I own the VKB Black Manba and interchange it with the Warthog. I'm now officially a "all metal" joystick snob.

If my wife knew how much money I've blown on flight sims over the years I think she'd shoot me.
