Fortune smiles
« on: December 29, 2013, 07:33:25 AM »
Last night I saw A112 flashing and no dar. Figured NOE and called that but only a few came running. Then I saw a horde of Niki's and buffs on the deck. I fired a couple of rocket from my F6 into the air and then thought why not fire them at the buffs. So I did. Didn't hit anything though, I think. Being only about 5k I dive on the buffs ignoring a P51 coming at me. Kill a lanc and I think I got a kill on the p51 when he Killshot himself on the lanc. Eventually a Niki hit me from 1k out. Ouch, but I was still flying with missing parts. Zipped back in killed a goon and a few troops from another goon. Finally it got clear enough to land. Belly landed to make it fast with a Niki hanging overhead. There was a friendly GV heading to town so I thought I would grab a Werble and head towards town. Then I saw 3 more goons coming in and the guy heading to town was no longer there. Wezel and another tried to make it but got swarmed and I was way too slow. So the Bish got the base much to dismay. I fired at a few passing planes but no luck there. The town ack and the base ack were firing at me. Killed one town ack and then saw the supply trucks running.

Hey, lets go kill some supply trucks! Moving away from town I spy another set and kill them and then continue on to where they nest. As I was about to clear a ridge I see a couple of planes heading my way. This is the end. But wait, it's another NOE mission. I clear the ridge so they can't fully see me. Then they come right to me hugging the deck. I nailed a couple right off the get go. Then ping another and another. Eventually I had 5 kills with about 5 of them trying to kill me. They dropped bombs, too low, whirrrrr thud. Finally a niki takes out my turret but I'm alive. Sure busted that mission. And of course I sounded the alarm. Finally I drove away and tried to land but someone got a proxy on me. Still though what dumb luck.

Theres nothing better than to be on the right spot at the right time lol. My favourite sortie was the one where I zoomed down from 15k on to a field that had a 20 plane mission just launching. Heavy P47:s, P51:s and mossies. Was fun :)

Ha!  I did the same thing and shot down 5 P38s before running out of ammo.  It was funny getting a bunch of PMs calling me out as a vulchtard on the flight home.  The right place at the right time is indeed a lot of fun.

A few years ago Sidey and myself were over a base, I was in a heavy Jug and Sidey in a 38. I was just going over the top to drop eggs when I saw a buff mission spawn on the runway, I changed angle and dropped in the middle of them. BOOOM  15 kills, Sidey went in and got another 8. We ran home giggling like school girls and even though we were chased by the rest of the mission escorts managed to land our kills.

Karaya did the same thing. I was on the other end this time. We saw a Ki coming and said so what. But he had an egg! I think he said he got like 26kills. Much to our chagrin the ack killed him. :)

This has always been my dream, to catch a mission spawn and bomb it lol.

You should ask Filth to tell the story of him in his 262 and a whole squad of 26s rearming during FSO............<shudder>

  Right place, right time.

I was chasing an enemy fighter as he was running toward his home base, and came across an NOE B17 raid inbound to my base.  As I was raising the alarm on the country text channel, I spotted two C47's bringing up the rear of the formation.  I managed to bag both buses before I was shot down.  You just don't get that lucky very often.
