Hiding them doesn't bother me until I find them hidden outside the map boundaries and ords have no effect on them.  Can't remember which map off hand but that was lame.

no need to look over your 12.  the first ping that kills you tells you there's a cv there.

Does it really require skill to find a hidden CV? One would think it takes a lot of patience (or not having a decent life or hobby), a little bit of intellect (given that icepac plays the game you can never fall too short of this), and being bored enough to actually go looking for a CV.

Furballs are good.
Base Hording is acceptable.
GV'ing is lame but okay.
Base Defending is great fun.
Bombing Strats/Towns/Bases is something to do.
DA can be fun sometimes.
MidWar/EarlyWar is almost always dead but great for practice.
WWI, no one likes kites but why not?
TA is great if you feel like teaching.

Now if none of the above crosses your mind before CV hunting for hours then maybe CV hunting is your idea of "fun" but I strongly recommend you explore other actions to do in the game.

Hiding CVs in the game is the one thing that makes my skin crawl.....cant stand it

Hiding a CV taken from an enemy port that is likely to be retaken is obviously tactically advantageous. Some folk play the game to find a fight and I get it (I guess) why they think hiding CVs is an unhappy thing. But there are scores of bases from which to find that fight, a few CVs MIA isn't going to impact that significantly.

I want my side to win so I am very much pro-hiding.

I prefer to put the CV into action at the earliest and best time possible.   Just take a few more bases around the port so you know you have some barrier.

Simply defend the port and boat.

No need to hide the boat.

I understand what your saying, but it is still lame. Your hiding it because you don't think your team could keep it if it was attacked. I'm more along the lines of if we can't defend it then we deserve to lose it. Use it as a focal point of a great battle!

Small point: You can't defend the CV, because you were born with the gene that allows you to feel boredom.  :D Thus you will be enjoying that great battle instead of staying on high patrol for buffs and jabos. The CV lasts until someone on the other team decides to kill it, and not one second more.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

Most maps you can find them but you have to be willing to look.

Point of order, sar! I have both witnessed and participated in CV defense against a dedicated attack that succeeded.
We're talking about an hour or more of jabos and buffs high and low (apparently there was a dedicated high cap).
And it wasn't boring the defenders at all. The attackers apparently either got bored or lost stamina or had to log, though.

It was glorious.

Having said that, however, it does seem to be more of a rare happenstance now.  :salute

I've been a member of many a CV defense! They are great fun. Most MUST have a good driver, some guys good on the guns doesn't hurt, and flying high cover or low in a C-hog popping buffs is fun, and the fights that develop with guys trying to get those buffs in.... just awesome. I've been in some that lasted the whole afternoon. Great fun. None of this horde crap, or diving lancs, just strait up fight for it!

Ahhh but that was when people actually fought in this game   :noid

Well, I never figured out why anyone would bomb a CV in the first place. It's a moveable feast   parked right next door.

You're not the only one that has that point of view.  :)
