 :aok You're on!

Yeah it doesn't get really cold here until February or March. -30 to -50 degrees centigrade is typical winter cold here in the inland parts of the country. The coastal areas are usually no more than -15 to -20 centigrade due to the Gulf-stream.

Over the past week here in Ontario people are reporting loud booms houses/buildings shaking. I didn't feel it yet, never heard of this I understand they call it cryoseism /frost quake caused by rapid drop the temperature and water saturated earth crust .But if you watch the second video on the link, they don't know for sure what's going on, now are talking about some kind electric discharge from the ground  caused by very low temperatures;

Global oil and coal based electricity production for large industry is the main reason for pollution (notice Im not saying there is global warming). Do you see anyone doing anything about that? No. Because they cant tax the industry too much without angrying the lobbyists who are paying the congressmens bills.

If you live in a potential freeze area you need two insulate your water channels instead of running water lol. Or at least install heating cables. They sell self adjusting heating cables that can be installed directly inside water tubing. The cable will warm the water to about 5 degrees celsius and consumes 10-14 watts of electricity typically.

The cold front is moving here also, we got 12-15 inches of snow last evening/night but was mild, since this morning the temperature is dropping quick and strong cold  NW wind;
I just read the Indianapolis mayor "outlaws" driving, lol; maybe good idea; NOAA temp map shows -39 degrees windchill in Indi now;many people don't have the vehicles prepared for winter;

Our Indy office is closed today.  I get the luxury of driving up to Grand Rapids tomorrow morning for an evening training class.  It should be a fun drive heading into the wind the whole way.

Jay, I'll be in Lansing on Thursday, cmon down, I'll buy ya a soda.  :D

This part of IL the thermometer outside the house was at -10 at 7am, now at -1. Calm wind as of right now. Got a foot of snow with a drift at the front porch 2ft deep.
