this last time I went on hiatus...when I came back it felt like well over a year since I flew....
was actually less then 3 weeks since last flight.....
I knew for sure then and there my addiction was heavy.
Tho' I was simply continuing the running forum joke your reply brings up a good point.
I've tried to leave the game three times in the past year for various reasons (burned out, bored, real-world and family issues). Each of the first two lasted less than a week but when I did "return" I was still suffering from the same burnout / boredom / irritation I had before the break.
When I "semi-quit" in Dec it lasted almost the whole month...partly because I was super busy with the Holidays and partly due to dealing with "real world" family troubles. I was surprised when I "returned" that this time I felt much better and even my gameplay appeared to improve. Some of this I attribute to things getting better in the "real world", but some of it is because I really did need a break.
So I guess the lession to take away from this is if you are suffering from AH Burnout you need to force yourself to step away for a while. I'm sure the duration will change depending on the person but for me it was about a month. I'm sure I would get the shakes and cold sweats if it was any longer than that.
