We just returned from China.

That's -40 there by the way - without windchill. You don't so much snowboard as slide down ice hills trying to hold an edge.

Can you imagine my horror when I found no AH BBS. It is a forbidden site within the Peoples Republic of China except for certain urban cities.

Now I can get by without Facebook and Youtube and a whole lot of other worthless rubbish, but I'm not going to be denied crucial pieces of information about who vulched who and who has had enough and is leaving (again and again and again and again).

Godless Marxists - how dare they! You cannot deny basic freedom! I need to know who revealed the CV location and why the Bish always horde, the Nits complain and the Rooks can't fight without an alt advantage and I need to know it now. Not when the Chairman says I can know.

When I was in China they didnt allow Google, YouTube or Facebook and probably a whole lot of other sites.  A Chinese guy I was working with there said they have their own type of Facebook .. closely monitored though I would think .. :P

One of the guys I was working with there then came to Australia for 3 months to finish the project and all he did was download truck loads of porn every single night. lol...

Yabuli - it's about 200 miles from Vladivostok on the China side and about the same from the North Korean border.

The Chinese Ski team train there, but it's about a 4 hour drive from the nearest airport which is in Harbin.

The lift ticket is thrown into the accommodation, so I don't know the price separately. but then again so was the food and all you can drink.

As you can imagine, it's not very crowded which is a plus. No lines on the gondola.

how much does it cost.. I always wanted to go to china.  Maybe here is a chance for me to make a excuse

They only spy on those of us who have the wrong 1st amendment protected belief systems. You on the other hand, are fair game no matter what you believe in. :D

I think exporting our western culture should be emphasized more than keeping China down all the time.  Clearly that's what they fear the most, and clearly they're bad at stopping it from happening.  Our objective should be that when China "catches up", it doesn't matter because they are basically their own version of America anyways (similar to Japan).

They still allow you to criticize the government, where as your post would either be censored, or put you on a list in China. Just think about your situation before you complain  :cheers:.
