Mass Disco?
« on: January 11, 2014, 09:23:48 AM »
It seems many, but not all, players got disco'd about halfway through the night. In case you're curious or angry, here's a good explanation as to the likely reason for what's been going on lately:

This is something no one has control over.  It has to do with the massive amount of damage the telecommunications infrastructure has endured during the severe winter storms.  As lines go done, it causes a re-route to happen, which will cause a disco if you are on that path.

As lines are brought back up, it will cause another disco due to another re-route.  Most of the problems are in the Eastern half of the U.S.  Unfortunately, this also impacts all of Europe as well.
My Current Rig:
GigaByte GA-X99-UD4 Mobo w/ 16Gb RAM
Intel i7 5820k, Win7 64-bit
NVidia GTX 970 4Gb ACX 2.0
Track IR, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Pedals

the bad thing was that i discoed
the good thing was that i was able to reconnect right back in my plane and finish the mission.

while it sucked, it really wasn't that terrible. the only saving grace was that i wasn't in a mob of bad guys at the time!

17 Axis and 7 Allied according to the logs. Some 8 percent which is high. I think a lot were able to reconnect (I did) as a result of that disco-refly feature that I am thankfull for. Hopefully next week will be more stable.

Same here. No biggie as I was RTB at the time and clear of enemy air. Contrary to what some believe it is what it is.The net infrastructure has taken a pretty big hit in recent weeks and there's not a dang thing any of us can do about it. I'm just glad there's a reconnect feature in the game that generally works.

I screwed up my rearm and had to tower. Came back a few minutes later to a lost connection. Might be a few more than what the logs show.

Of the JG11 every one lost UDP, only about 40% got complete discoed to desktop, all but 1 made it back for the in flight reconnection.
