Will out-climb a P-51D!

In AH it will outclimb a P-51D while flying on the edge of stall...

Almost anything worth flying outclimbs P-51D (probably besides P-47)

The cost price is nothing compared to all the other costs.

Still very much a rich man's plane.

According to one owner, operating costs are on par with a P-40. However, it offers considerably better performance on the same basic Allison. I probably wouldn't buy a Yak as an investment, because they are all new builds and use American engines. No historical value, per se. They are replicas. Still, a great ride for the guy who wants some weekend adventure and who has deep enough pockets.

I'm sure any AH enthusiast would sell their mother in law to get one. Anyone thought of a pooled purchase? AH community WW2 bird? :D

That's almost a reason to get married right there.
