At least with the pedals, the problem seems to me that a potentiometer has bought the farm and needs to be replaced.  The issue could have also caused the issue of commands bleeding through to the Warthog controllers, I've seen it happen before with CH gear and other controllers.

ack-ack

Possible. The problem will be finding a replacement POT that works.  I live in Colorado...You'd think finding replacement POT wouldn't be a problem  :lol

Fulcrum: Er...no, I must have seen that in a Sci-Fi movie.  Yeah, that's right! That's the ticket!

Shhhhhhhhhh!   Are you trying to blow my chance to get authorization from the family CFO (aka the Wife) to buy a 3D printer!!

 :D

All you need do is design some jewelery! A nice ring or pendant and tell her you could make it for her if only you had a 3D printer. If that doesnt work design some cooking utinsel and give her the same line! :devil

The trick is to convince "her" she cant live without it,not that you could use it!!! :rofl :rofl :rofl

If you can find out what kind of potentiometer is used by the Saitek pedals, it may be possible to order the potentiometers directly from CRS (just do a google search for CRS potentiometers).  CRS makes the potentiometers that are used by a lot of joystick manufacturers.

I second that; Morfiend is a genius!  I think I can use that with my C-in-C House, too!

Ack-Ack: Good idea.  When/if I end up opening the pedals up and it's not just a bad connection, I'll definitely do that.  Of course, in that case, I'll probably want to replace the crummy USB control board with the Bodner board suggested earlier by Morfiend.  In for a penny, in for a pound.

Actually Fulcrum suggested the bodner board but I had discovered them years ago!  I sent a link to Baumer for the bodner and he built several control boxes to map key presses with and mounted them in his simpit.

When you've been married to the same women as long as I have you quickly learn it's all about them and you'd better not forget it! I convinced her she needed the monitor I was using, she just couldnt live without it and I would replace it with a cheaper model,it just happened to be about 10 inches bigger but I convienently didnt mention that!!! :devil

If I go that route, I would be happy to document the process.

Quick update. Over the weekend, I went out and bought an externally powered USB hub.  It did not fix the problem.  During the course of working on this, I connected yet another problem to the Saitek usage.  Occasionally in the past, my center monitor, which is connected by HDMI cable to my vid-card, would randomly (or so I thought) go completely blank for some seconds, then kick back on.  When it came back on, it would not just come back on immediately, but acted as if the video card itself had done some kind of reset; arena objects would come back in stages, first as solid white objects, then with the bit-mapping coming back on.  I realized that this, too, has occurred during heavy rudder usage.  I also was able to determine that it was not just the toe-brakes causing these problems, but that working the rudders themselves rapidly and with full deflection could cause these problems.

Looks like I'm going to have to open up the pedals and look for loose/open connections and shorts. :bhead
