Hotcoffe, I understand completely what you are asking for and why.  I just completely disagree with your wish.  That is what this board is for, you have an idea, you've presented it, and now we are allowed our opinions on your request, without you telling me I have a low IQ.

The game already has auto landing if you use auto pilot right!

Lineup with RW press x and use throttle to control sink rate,I use this whenever I get a PW,cant tell you how many times I've landed while blackout!

Gamey, yes but it will work with a little practice,so wish granted!!! :devil

Actually yes it does! as long as the CV isnt turning and holds it's course you can do the same as on a base,in fact it may be easier because of the hook and catch wires!

Yeah.  Gotta agree with the naysayers for this wish.  Landing is a burden.  You get a reward for doing it properly.  I suppose I wouldn't have a problem with it if you didn't get the rewards for a successful landing off it, but at that point why not just auger?

What Wiley said.  If you don't put out the effort you shouldn't get the same reward.  Kind of like the stall proof mode of flight…..it's easier, the price you pay is you can't get max performance from the airplane.

Simple fact, this game/sim is extremely easy to fly…there is very little challenge to flying any of the aircraft modeled.  You can do everything wrong and still make a successful takeoff or landing…no reason to make it any easier.

But they do turn. And with a land airstrip you have a lot more length. On a CV you have a specific spot to trap on and throttle adjustment is a big part of that.  :salute

Some of the car racing games reduce earned points by how many auto functions you use.  That could be interesting.  Combat Trim would take a hit.

If I can land a PW'd engine-out 262 on a CV, you can be bothered to land your plane on a regular field.

You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

Perhaps along with auto-takeoff and auto-landing, we could add combat-autopilot. Then we could just sit back, drink beer and watch as the game takes off, fights, and lands for us.

 :lol
We already have that option. It's called "watch a film by Dolby"

As for the OP, are there any other hand-holding options that you'd like to see? I have a feeling that this is the gunsight you use:
