The only thing that is keeping me from hitting the purchase button is that it's Russian made.  If the Russian's can't build a toilet that can flush toilet paper, can I expect them to make a good, quality joysticks?

On the other hand, if I was in the market for an ejection seat, I'd buy Russian.

So far after a couple weeks my Black Fat Mamba is working flawlessly. I am ordering 2 adapter kits for the Warthog grip since I will be ordering a second one. So far the best joystick I ever had but would like the F-16 type buttons/hats arrangement. I don't know how the Warthog grip will affect the balance of the joystick though. :D

Any center play with the stick?  Any sign of spiking?  I would not think you would see that as the Mamba uses an advanced hall sensor rather than a pot.

X52 is Saitek.  Nothing more need be said.  :D

Nothing wrong with pots as long as they are quality ones.

They may claim it's Russian but fact is it's made in China,a friend of mine just happened to be there last week!  I had told him about the stick and knew he went all over the place so I said next time your in China check to see if you can find a VKB stick.

So the other night he told me he was there, where they make them but was unable to purchase any sticks as they only had manufactoring rights! If you read the shipping imfo it states the sticks will be shipped from China ,for some reason, simply because they are made there.

I'm not saying that the VBK isnt a quality piece, dont get me wrong,I'm just saying they are made in China and not Russia!  I was hoping my buddy could grab a couple and save us both a few bucks, but I guess I'll wait to see how they stand up after 6 months to a years.

I purchased a warthog when they first came out and was pleased but the JS messed up in the first couple weeks and now that the warranty is up the throttle gave up so I grabbed a ch to replace it.  I hope to find a local shop to fix the warthog throttle.

just because they are manufactured in China does not mean that they are chines , almost everything today is manufactured in china , whats count is where the technology is developed.

and FBM ....

I know the saitek will have slightly less quality but it features the hall sensors and comes with rudder and much cheaper...

Many items are manufactured in China for companies from other countries, but getting them straight from the production line may not be the cleverest thing to do although it may save some bucks at that moment. For what I've heard, the workers often sell the products from the rejects bin as an addition to their small salary. They may even sell them as "new, unused items" on Ebay. Recently I bought a fan for an older MacBook via Ebay directly from China. The original Mac-part would have been a three digit sum even without mail, the Chinese company sent it me for about five bucks total! I must say the item wasn't shiny and unscratched like one would suppose... So be careful when buying something at the factory backdoor!
