What to expect from the Tempest
« on: March 08, 2001, 12:15:00 PM »
HT was testing the Tempest in the MA earlier (shows up in films as a Typhoon), got a few films of fighting him in my Typhoon. Looks like it's good in the vertical and roll rate,  can take a few hits to the wings but still is vulnerable at the tail

Last film is the most interesting IMO - it's a tricky one to catch in a zoom climb by the look of it, and the roll rate seemed nice from the very brief look I had.

Oh, and I managed to take off alongside Superfly's Tempest later on when he was flying Knights... my empty Tiffy managed to climb with his 2x500lb-equipped Tempest - as long as I kept WEP on and him leave it off   He managed to chase down a low P51 with bombs still aboard, though he had a slight alt advantage...

Does look like a fun plane, I'll probably be the only one using a perk plane to hunt osties.

As soon as I figure out how to play these at work I'll thank you Duma.  Until then, I am forced to despise you
