Above normal here for two months. Sometimes we've been near the normals, but mostly above 5, 10 or more degrees with not a drop of rain in 6 weeks.

Winter is east of here though, wow New Orleans had a windchill of 15 the other day  :O
They're casting their bait over there, see?

<S> greens, good to hear from you :salute
Hope things are well.

We in Southern NJ (Just NE of Philly), have been stuck with daytime highs
in the teens and 20's for quite a while, with Windchill dropping the 'real feel" temp lower.
Gonna be well above average on Sunday (high of 50).
Rumors of a big Nor'Easter possible next Saturday with a possible 30+" Snowstorm.
We've been getting a good bit more Snow than recent January's.
Feb is our Snowiest month, so we've got a good month yet till we start feeling
like Winter looses grip.
Younger Generations have become Weather wusses here and are tripping because
they've never the Delaware River freeze so much in recent times.
Yeah, it's been this Cold here many times in years past.

The world's weather energy is constant more or less.  So if you have it warm, then some places else is equally as cool.  An over simplification but you see what I mean.  The question of course is whether the worlds weather energy is increasing or decreasing or staying the same.

In south Arkansas, weather can change by the hour. I've seen as much as a 40 degree difference between the daily low and high points. Our monthly average for January is a low of 30 and a high of 50. Overall We've had a below average winter imho, the lowest was 9F and several days we didn't get above freezing. We had some ice storms and sleet in december, but january has been dry. We've had the cold, but no moisture to make winter weather. Forecasted to potentially get some snow Wednesday, at the very least rain that we badly need.

Negative temps during the day without windchill factored happens every few years here, this year we've had 4 days below zero with the sun out.  The snow is piled higher than in recent years so Imma gonna build me an igloo in the front yard.

I just don't understand why the upper atmospheric winds have shifted like they have, which makes me think that the "world's weather energy" has shifted to some degree...you also have to think about the amount of energy needed to move that huge cold air mass off of the northern polar region down to where it is now...you look at a satellite view of the northern hemisphere and it looks like the jet streams are now circulating over middle Canada and not the pole....

Over the last three weeks, Pittsburgh has been in double digits just a few days. It was -19 Tuesday morning without windchill. But it rose up to zero by 1-2Pm. Yesterday and today it's in the 20-30's and feels like spring! Supposed to get rain this weekend I believe.

A friend who's from either Rochester Buffalo, NY said his mom said it was -30's the one day without windchill.

It's been a brutally cold winter for the most part in N Texas with a few warm days scattered in. Had a high of about 70 today but supposed to have the different storm systems and an arctic front over the next few days that's going to bring some pretty decent winter precip.

And depending on what model you look at we could have anywhere between 1/2" to 14" of snow lol. 14" is highly unlikely. I'm hoping for at least 4-6 so I can have some good fun in the Jeep.

Yep, extreme weather; cold, messy roads and record snow here, and UK is getting slammed again after all the floods;  strong depression in Atlantic, looks like a hurricane on Google weather map,  they are expecting high winds and 60ft waves for tomorrow;
