I remember when some custom computer manufacturers were offering 'oil bath' cooling systems.  That idea never seemed to take off though.

ack-ack
I remember the Tom's Hardware crew building one for some event. The idea is cool (pun intended) but think about carrying one to a lan party, not to mention the mess if someone accidentally pushes it off the table in an excited state of mind. Slippery, I'd say.

No, I didn't know much about computers then, just hanging around in the shop to sniff the bitsy atmosphere. I got a feeling that he had more than a couple of variables in his equations, my interests being more on the profit percentage calculations. Probably he also knew and could prove that 2+2 doesn't always equal 4. Actually, it more often equals something else...

. 2+2 always equals 4 ....lol unless you equivicate or use some logical fallacies

:rofl :rofl :rofl how this thread has evolved to a discussion about an equation! As I said, I used to be more into percentage calculations, so I'm not the best person to argue about how much 2+2 actually is. As a side note, though, 2 can be divided to 1+1, but 1+1 definitely doesn't always make 2. If 1+1 were always 2, this computer I'm typing this on wouldn't work at all!

X Ray generators are 'oil bath' cooling, we have to drill them before scrapping :old:

Isn't it weird that when you think computers in oil bath, the image is 'cool' but when you think of a babe in oil bath it becomes somehow 'hot'
