chose the skins of bomber drones

It would be great for fun that we could chose the skins on the other to drones along with the bomber we are flying!

I agree. It's a little silly seeing three of the same exact plane flying in formation.

I don't know about that but having "sets" of skins for bombers would be good. Three relevant skins that would make up a set of bombers with some sort of historical accuracy, aircraft that would have been seen flying together in WWII.

Surely the skin changes would really apply to just numbers and nose art :headscratch:

Yes many squadrons flew together and would become perhaps intermingled due to the make up of formations, but for the purposes of the game it would be nice to see 3 a/c of the same unit, but with a variety of tail/fuselage identification numbers, and nose art.

I just would like the option to have 3 different skins. of course you should still be able to have the same one on all 3.

It is to give a little variety to the game.

Interesting Idea. However this is the issue I see with the idea of having up to 3 different skins on a single player; I believe it has been stated elsewhere in the forums that this change would require additional information to traverse the network, effectively exacerbating the already prevalent "latency" issue.

Don't get me wrong, any advantage I can get in my flying targets I'll take, but not when it means I'll get a PM saying, "stop pulling your network cable, cheater!"

Personally from an eye candy and historical point of view, yeah, why do my drones have the same numerical and artistic markings? It's just too bad that a visual aesthetic can have such a dramatic affect on game play smoothness.

Every wish must be weighed against the ability for programmers to implement said wish with it's impact on existing game play mechanics.

For bombers with formation ability.

Since the drones are clones of the original skin.

Maybe bomber skins can be updated with an additional file that holds incremented rudder, wing, and unit markings targeted to the two clones. A non "nose art" nose area, while using the primary skin for everything else. If you don't have that skin loaded, then you default to the generic AH bomber skin seeing three clones from your PC as you fly past.

The other possibility would be requiring bomber skin files to include full skins for each of the drones. But, making allowances for their generic duty. Ala, you can clone the base skin, then increment the markings for each clone as long as they are different.
