Having terrain that is modeled on real locations isn't replicating WW2.  We do after all have a map already based on a real location and have had it for many years.  Other than possible balance issues, I don't see why we shouldn't be able to have maps based on real terrain locations.

I agree.  Would be fun to fly over WWII era London.

That's not possible currently. Hint hint nudge nudge.

The closest you can get is the avachanl terrain and it isn't any good for a three sided MA balance. See Paris while you're looking at it.
Easy in-game again.

Perhaps for scenarios etc?

They're not allowed to use our AvA terrains, if that answer's your question. But yes, I'd like more options for building cities.

I'm very happy however with the proposed update to the terrain engine.  :aok

no thank you....the MA does not replay WW2...this would really make people think thats what it does....

WW2 online suked arse....the sandbaox that is the AH MA is far more fun.

At one time WW2OL was the hottest game in the market.

The thing is it never grew. It never introduced new airplanes. New tanks. And very little "new" anything. They did a terrain upgrade and added a few infantry weapons but basically it was the same game it was when it started. Actually it had a flight model very similiar to AH but with very few planes in the hangar. I daresay its P-40 was a winner and a few others too. The most exciting land, sea, air battles Ive ever been in have been in WW2OL. The teamwork in its heyday was the best I ever saw in an online game. Mostly cause it had an older crowd and the most realistic WW2 terrain and strategy Ive ever seen.

Damn! what happened to it? I remember those huge para missions with my fellow Brits jumping Tommy guns at the ready. 50 or 60 at a time.

It just never grew or updated. The old crowd mostly left. Now, even tho its been green lighted, it mostly survives on the charity of donors. It seems every bad mistake they can make to bring back the old loyal crowd they find a way to make.

But it was something. At one time it was really something.

Really?  When was that?  I played at launch and stuck with it for a year and the game never recovered from what is considered to be one of the worst MMO launches to date.  With each new update it continuously lost players and never regained the players it had lost.  Even their attempt to get the game into China ended up being a disaster.

It's flight model was nowhere near AH's quality, it was then and still is a joke.  Need I remind you of the Bf 110's that were able to take off like helicopters and fly around or of Ju87s driving down the road on the deck using their landing gears to over turn tanks and trunks?

In all the years I played it I never once saw anything like that. Or even heard of it.

The only times I look at the terrain very much, is when I'm getting off of it or onto it. Sure, more eye candy is nice... Not essential for me.

Yeah it's the vicious circle thing. Nobody plays in the AvA because it's always empty unfortunately.

Actually, we've had 6-20 per night lately (not every single night of course, but most). 8-11pm EST is the best time.

I wasn't there from the beginning, but when I played it it was incredibly bad....the planes seemed to stall out way to easy....and every plane felt like it was the same....

again I was very new to flying in general, and it was a few years ago....

I played like 4 days....and never touched it again....went to fighter ace because offline drones if you started the bomber escort mission the fighters would engage you....

thats actually how I got to fly in AH...a Buddy...Not sure if you remember the name "Jozepi" he was the one that showed me Aces High, I traded a tattoo for a computer....never owning one before,I was 34 at the time....Jozepi wouldn't let me fly online....until I showed him the fighting I could do in FA....I would kill all the escorts in waves of 5....no matter the level I put them on...he saw that and let me fly in AH online....

the very first flight I took he was watching me...now mind you he was flying AH long before I met him....

I go after the biggest red dar...on his name...(he was cringing hahaha)

as I start to fight...he says "you cant do that"  :rofl

he would have called me a hack if he wasn't sitting right behind me :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

from that day...all other flying games are just blaaaaaaa compared to AH in my mind...

but if it was set up as the "real war"...I would never have gotten into it
