The Pillsbury Throwboy

Jared Lorenzen, formerly of Kentucky Wildcat and New York Giant fame was best known as Eli Manning's dump truck of a backup. Now he's a dump truck of a nose tackle, playing quarterback.

Last year, Lorenzen signed with the Northern Kentucky River Monsters of the Continental Indoor Football League, hoping to recapture the magic he enjoyed with the team in 2011 when he threw for 3,473 yards and 81 touchdowns.

Lorenzen, listed at 6'4", 320 (and the same number of Super Bowl rings as Peyton Manning and Brett Favre) still has what it takes to win. The Hefty Lefty led the River Monsters to a 36-20 victory over the Bluegrass Warhorses.

His hands and reach so big he can simply hold the ball far away from the opponents to keep it from getting knocked out.

This guy can play.  No doubt about it.  College level, walk on to the pros, bush league general, a true player.  Its amazing the blurry line he draws between standard and exceptional.

He broke his leg in the gam,e yesterday and is out the rest of the season. Had to be carried off the field....

When he played at Kentucky I would go out of my way to watch his games even though I had no interest in Kentucky football.  I remember a game when he was banged up and his linemen had to carry him down the field to the next ball spot after a completion.  Now that was a crazy thing to see.

Me aswell, he always seemed to have monster games  against Georgia
