Wurz!

Yep, you might want to try good old-fashioned DSL.  We had to use that at a work location a couple of years back.  It's faster than DSL from 20 years ago, but still vastly slower than cablemodems or Fios.  Still, as noted, it is probably fine for Aces High, which is more demanding on latency than bandwidth.

Until a recent move to Comcast cable, I used DSL for years with a measly 1.75 down & .35 up. Rarely if ever did I have warping issues. I believe you need to be within 2 miles of the Telco for DSL...at least that's why my provider told me.

:salute Gp...hope you find a solution.

One of our squad members uses a dedicated modem for wireless and works pretty well.

I too live in a rural area where there is no cable.  There is only satellite and Clearwire which is scum of the earth.  I tether my phone and use its Verizon 4GLTE connection.  I could play for hours every day and not go over my 4 gig data limit.  To anyone considering using this method, I recommend you download an app to tether.  The built-in function may incur a fee from your cell carrier.  I bought a full app called PDANET for $7.  My latency is 100ms or less.  No packet loss and mostly flat variance.

I also use Verizon wireless. Its that unit that looks like a thumb drive. I connected an external antenna to mine. Antenna is outside. Works fine. Ordered both from Verizon.

Plan to be off grid soon.

i use modem from verizion wireless it wires into my PC by USB i am limited to 10 GB a month that is plenty for gaming but not downloading or anything else its the only internet i can get out here in the sticks i have used it for 5 years now it cost about $75 a month but its that or dial up my ping aint great it ranges from 100-150 most of the time with spikes around 170-200 but it drop back to 100-150 rather fast no warping or i dont notice lag at all its not cable but it about the next best thing its not bad for wireless and the good thing is you can take it anywhere and have internet as long as you got service it work kinda like a cell phone the more service you got the better  :salute

You don't need a lot of bandwidth (though it makes updating a squeak)... low network latency is the ticket, and dialup works just fine... better than DSL in many cases.

Wurz, will miss ya my ol' bud.  Come on back when you can.  Thank you for flying that avatar these years after I asked people too.  I've always appreciated that.  You're a good guy & the game will be less without ya. :salute

Wurz my dad runs on sat and sometimes has issues but its better than the dial up, I run on a cellphone and its even better than the sat. Might take a look and see what your speeds are like.

If not then :neener:
