Air Raid at Thelepte AirfieldOn Friday January 15, 1943, the P-40 Warhawks of the 33rd Fighter Group 12th USAAF were attacked by a surprise low level enemy air raid. This day the pilot's of the 33rd FG went aloft to shoot down 8 of 9
Ju88s. These Ju88s were escorted by C202s of the Regia Aeronautica. The ensuing scramble and air battle resulted in the 33rd FG's "Best Day" of the war.

StukaThe Luftwaffe has been assigned to close shipping traffic in the English Channel in the opening days of The Battle of Britain. The date is 10 August, 1940 and German radar has been picking up Channel traffic close to the Southern English shore. Fleiger Korps VIII has been operating sorties against small convoys escorted by light navy ships. JU87 "Stuka" bombers have been hunting with great success while being escorted by BF110s out of Cherbourg. Its 17:00 hours and another group of ships have been detected trying to slip away in the late day's calm and orders are to find and destroy.

This SNAPSHOT will reenact a typical "Maximum Effort" callout to destroy targets in southern Romania. The airframes in use will be the P-51B, B-24 and B-17G for the Allies.
